Into The Wild

Into the Wild is written by Jon Krakauer. It is about a boy named Christopher Johnson McCandless who live in Annandale, Virginia. Christopher was really smart. He graduated from Emory university in 1990. After graduating, he didn't talk to his family much anymore. He gave away 24,000 dollars to Oxfam which was his college fund. To unwind, he traveled across the western United states. His first stop was a stampede trail in Alaska. He arrived there on April 28, 1992. He only carried during his expedition 10 pounds of rice, a ,22 rifle, boxes of rifle rounds, a camera, and reading material. We later find out that he had a backpack with his wallet, a social security card, $300.00, identification, a map of the area and library cards. He stayed there for a while (about 119 days) until he died of starvation somewhere around August 18, 1992. On September 6, 1992, Christopher's body was found inside an abandoned bus in Alaska where he died. One year later, a man named Jon Krakauer retraced his steps during his two years between his graduation and his journey to Alaska. This was eventually made a book and recently a major motion picture.
