Jon Krakauer

     Jon Krakauer was born in 1954 on April 12th. His books are mostly about outdoors or stories of other people's lives. He was born in Brookline, Massachusetts and he had 4 other siblings. His parent's names are Carol Ann Krakauer(Unitarian) and Lewis Joseph Krakauer(Jewish). After he was born, by the time he was two, he and his family moved to Corvallis, Oregon. When he was eight years old, he was really interested in mountain climbing. He and his dad would go climbing all the time. The schools he graduated from were Corvallis High School which he graduated from in 1972 and received an environmental degree at Hampshire College in Massachusetts in 1976. His spouse is Linda Mariam Moore. They got married in 1980 and live in Boulder, Colorado. Jon Krakauer has wrote many bestselling books like Into the Wild, Into thin Air, Under the banner of Heaven, and Where men win Glory: The Odyssey of Pat Tillman. He has had a very successful life so far and is a great author.
